Fire Frenzy

valefestfire

Ahhh it's all coming together. Man just as I'm leaving England I find this fab circus society with an entire crew of awesome firespinners. I had my first experience of a fire troupe at a festival and  loved every minute to say the least. They were improvising and it sent my brain crazy with visions of costumes, music, crazy solos and crescendos of unison. They used staff and poi but imagine it fused with fire eating and breathing, dance, mime, song words and a theatrical context... They had wicked improvising djembe and bongo drummers, that provided what felt like a spiritual atmosphere, making me feel like I was in creative worship- imagine a fire troupe anointed with the Holy Spirit and acting out the power of the fire of God... Bring on Cirque De Dieu. It's gotta happen.

Met some lovely students and although they weren't lightin today (sunny and bright 5-7pm) we should be doing fire in the dark in the park next Mon! So Dan and I will be there can't wait!

Got to practise some poi moves FINALLY and will be learning to juggle properly as long as they have some other meeting times (teach monday nights) YAHOO! I love it...

4.30 am...insomniaaaaarrrrghaaaaaachoo!!!

hey

I'm sneezing the night away! So what better way to pass the time.

WE'RE MOVING!

Yes, it's official. Dan and I, and not forgetting Missy, are moving to Swansea, Wales- for those non-Brits out there, that's a whole change of country! The Welsh language is taught in all schools in Wales, signs are in Welsh and English, and I love languages but I honestly don't have a CLUE when it comes to this, it sounds like a cross between Dutch (the common 'll' sound is similar to the much-mocked Dutch 'g' which makes unseasoned people want to hand you a hankerchief and bless you. Sorry... ) and whoevertheheckknowswhat. < That there in itself sounds like a welsh word but it would've taken me a lot longer to try and spell it if I'd thought that at the time.  English is predominant but as I said, I love languages so I want to at least try. The accent is lovely, by the way!!

And Wales is lovely. We are going to live by  the ocean! Ok, Swansea is a city with its industrial... aspects... but the Bible College of Wales, the reason for our move, is near the much sought-after coastal area 'The Mumbles', (aaahh!!) with gorgeous beach and great views. My parents live there and I go to join Rowan and Jany to co-found a performing arts department, primarily for mime and ministry, whilst Dan aims to study Theology and Ministry for two years. He will also join us  girls wherever possible as we gallavant around Swansea and beyond, miming our stripey socks off with all the joy a newly formed troupe should have!

Achoo! No, that's not Welsh for Goodbye,

But, I must return to the horizontal state I should be in at this hour, 4.48am, at least, if not sleep...

List... Inspired by xangatier GalileeAE

mmm friends

autumn leaves

                                             12112006041 > arianna, my niece

little kids who make you laugh

laughing anyway, for the ? of it

my cat, Mischief, who although she hates me, by example teaches me not to give a monkeys about anything

04112006032

sleep, when you can get it

accidentally sleeping til u wake up naturally cos your alarm failed you (has good points)

reading about people who feel the same, on xanga

daydreaming about the world stopping and being able to get off at a desert island

what would you take? I'd take a starbucks coffee house where they know me well enough to give me the drinks they make by mistake

and the complete works of shakespeare and the Bible obviously. boring!

and equipment to learn all the skills I want to learn but don't have time to, cos I have to spend time working my butt off at the things I'm supposed to be way better at by this time.

New skills would be: circus skills especially fire arts, languages: first French, Italian and Spanish, Instruments, first piano, guitars, then drums, violin, harmonica and flute.
